Emergencies Call 9-1-1

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Capt. Steve Sarkesian

EMS Coordinator

In 1999, Camp Verde Fire District (CVFD) acquired the Certificate of Necessity (CON) from Camp Verde Clinic Association and began providing ambulance services.  This change required CVFD to manage ambulances to respond to emergencies not only within the fire district that encompasses 27 square miles, but also provide ambulance services to approximately 607 additional square miles covered by the CON.

When CVFD acquired the ambulance service there were approximately 860 calls per year for help.  At that time, CVFD had three (3) Paramedics and twelve (12) EMTs and staffed one (1) ambulance 24 hours a day.  In 2012, CVFD ambulances responded to 1,730 calls for assistance and staffed two (2) full time ambulances 24 hours a day.  CVFD currently has fifteen (15) Paramedics and nine (9) EMTs that strive to provide the best possible care to those in need.
